SFU Recreation Membership

How to Activate

As a CDM student, you are eligible for a Vancouver Parks & Recreation Membership or a Burnaby Recreation Membership. You can only hold one campus recreation membership at the same time.

SFU Burnaby Recreation Membership

The membership gives you access to SFU Burnaby’s:

  • Fitness Centre
  • Aquatic Centre
  • Drop-in sports and intramural leagues
  • Squash/raquetball/tennis courts

As an eligible student, you have to renew your membership by agreeing to and submitting a new liability waiver form online every September at go.sfu.ca

SFU Vancouver Recreation Membership

The Vancouver Flexipass gives you free access to Vancouver’s public recreation facilities during operating hours, including:

  • Fitness centers
  • Public skating rinks
  • Public swimming pools

COMPLETE LIABILITY WAIVER

  1. Go to GoSFU and complete your SFU Athletics & Recreation Waiver.

2. Wait 24-48 hours for the waiver to be processed and added to the recreation system.

3. After your waiver shows as completed, contact Main Recreation Office at 778-782-4142 or email them at rec@sfu.ca. Explain to them that you are taking classes in Vancouver and would like the Vancouver Membership, they will assist you in registering for the membership and provide you with a receipt.

Unfortunately, as of now there isn’t an automatic process for this as CDM classes do not occur on SFU’s Burnaby or Downtown campus.

ACTIVATE

  1. Present your receipt and SFU ID Card to the staff at any of the following Vancouver Community Centres:
    • West End Community Centre – 870 Denman Street
    • Kitsilano Community Centre – 2690 Larch Street
    • Mount Pleasant Community Centre – 1 Kingsway
    • Trout Lake Community Centre – 3350 Victoria Drive
  1. You will receive a Flexipass to use at recreation centres throughout the municipality. The Vancouver Flexipass allows access to Vancouver Board of Parks & Recreation operated fitness centres, public skating and public swimming sessions during operating hours. RENEW

  1. Each term log into the Recreation Web Portal at athleticsandrecreation.its.sfu.ca to renew your membership.
