CDM is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive living and learning environment, with resources and services to support all students.
Once you get your acceptance
1) Accept your offer in goGRAD and pay your nonrefundable deposit.
Your deposit will be applied toward your tuition in the first term.
International Students – A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is required for your study permit. Once you accept your offer and pay you deposit, SFU will reach out to you via email to confirm your information before they send you a PAL. If you think you might defer your admissions, please let CDM Student Services know and do not request a PAL. For additional support with your visa application, we recommend contacting a SFU International Student Advisor
Apply for Study Permit, Co-op Work Permit, and TRV (if applicable). For additional support with your visa application, we recommend contacting a SFU International Student Advisor.
2) Complete the conditions on your offer letter
Submit your Official Transcript(s) and English Exam (if applicable) to SFU.
International Students – If you require an unconditional Letter of Acceptance, once SFU receives your official documents please submit a ticket to SFU Graduate Studies to ask them to remove the conditions on your letter. Please note you can still apply for your study permit with a conditional Letter of Acceptance.
3) Register for CDM Pre-Arrival Webinars.

Find housing (if needed)
Space is limited for CDM student housing and is first-come-first serve. Apply HERE
You are also eligible to apply for SFU student housing (please be aware of the commute)

Pre-Arrival
1) Activate your SFU Computing ID and access goSFU.
- You will receive an e-mail approximately two months before the term starts.
- Please ensure your information is updated at all times on goSFU.
3) Confirm you will be joining us
- Fill out our Contact Form
- Fill out our Study Permit & Class Confirmation
- Complete all student forms.

- International Students
- Check to see if you are eligible to cancel (opt out of) the guard.me@SFU Plan and GSS Health and Dental Plan.

Understand your role as a graduate student
Simon Fraser University (SFU) is the administrator for CDM students and during the program, students use SFU’s systems and follow SFU’s policies and resources. By enrolling in classes, you are agreeing to following university policies such as academic honesty, student conduct, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, as well as the Graduate General Regulations. Arrival
Get your SFU ID and get your monthly U-Pass transit pass.
- You are eligible to receive your SFU ID once you enroll in courses.
- You will need to load your card every month.
- You must bring your SFU ID when using your U-Pass.
