Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)

Students are able to borrow books through the CPSLD reciprocal borrowing agreement . Students must present proof that they are a current student (SFU ID) when borrowing materials and proof of address. Students will then be registered at the lending library according to the lending library’s practice (e.g. expiry date established by lending library).

In order for students to borrow books, students will need to obtain a COPPUL card to present at the UBC Library. To obtain a COPPUL card, students will need to ask for one at any of SFU’s Library Circulation desk(s) (https://www.lib.sfu.ca/about/reach-us/hours).

Note: Students are only able to borrow books from partner institution libraries. Students will not be able to book specific facilities at the libraries. Students will also need to follow the lending libraries’ regulations related to loan periods, renewal and recall procedures, and fines. Lost or damaged materials should be reported to the library from which the item was borrowed. Students are responsible for paying any fines, lost book charges or processing charges incurred. More information about all of this can be found here: https://www.lib.sfu.ca/borrow/borrow-materials (search for “Reciprocal agreements”).

As members of the general public, students are entitled to a public library card in the city or municipality in which they are a resident. Proof of address will be required to obtain a library card. A public library card enables individuals to borrow from any of the public libraries throughout Vancouver. Instructions to apply for a library card can be found here: https://www.vpl.ca/
